PA Board Member Elected to National Leadership Position
 

Scottsdale, Ariz. - Randy Danielsen, Ph.D., P.A.-C, Dean of the Arizona School of Health Sciences and a member of the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants, was elected to serve a three-year leadership term on the Board of Directors of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) at its November meeting in Atlanta.

Dr. Danielsen‘s term as Chairman-Elect will begin January 1st. In 2007, he will serve as the NCCPA Chairman of the Board, and in 2008, as the Immediate Past Chair.

Janet J. Lathrop, MBA, president of the NCCPA, said, “Randy‘s extensive knowledge of the profession as a clinician, an educator and as a state regulatory board member � combined with his tireless dedication � make him the perfect choice for this leadership position.” She added, “I look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Dr. Danielsen has served on the NCCPA Board since 1997. Most recently, he was the chair of the Research & Test Development Committee, the Secretary of the NCCPA Board of Directors, and a member of the Executive Committee. He received a Doctorate in Education from the Union Institute & University in 2003 with an emphasis on medical education.

The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is the only credentialing organization for physician assistants in the United States. Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1975, the NCCPA is dedicated to assuring the public that certified physician assistants meet professional standards of knowledge and clinical skills upon entry into practice and throughout their careers.
