MEDICAL BOARD ORDERS RESTRICTIONS FOR DOCTOR‘S PRACTICE

Scottsdale, Ariz. - The Arizona Medical Board, meeting in emergency session on Friday, October 6, 2005, voted unanimously to restrict the license of Sudhir Goel, M.D. of Phoenix to male patients only. Board members took the action because of an imminent threat to the public. During the meeting, staff investigators detailed another complaint filed against Dr. Goel, who is Board certified in Internal Medicine.

After an earlier emergency meeting on August 22nd, Dr. Goel had signed a consent agreement for an interim board order that required him to have a licensed healthcare professional act as a chaperone when he saw any female patients.

The emergency action was effective immediately because both Dr. Goel and his attorney were present at the Board meeting.
