Distinguished Arizona Medical Board Member Steps Down

Scottsdale, Ariz. - At the completion of her term on July 1, 2005, Dr. Ingrid E. Haas, M.D., has announced she will step down from the Arizona Medical Board. The Scottsdale obstetrician/gynecologist has served on the board since November 2002. Governor Janet Napolitano who will choose her successor reappointed her on September 25, 2003.

In making her decision, Dr. Haas said, “The experience has been intellectually stimulating, as well as educational.”

Dr. Haas is one of eight physicians on the Arizona Medical Board. By statute, four others are public members, including a licensed registered nurse. The board licenses and regulates more than 17,000 physicians, of whom some ten thousand practice in our state.

“Dr. Haas has dedicated countless hours to protect the public health and safety through a conscientious and thorough review of investigations brought before the board,” said Timothy C. Miller, Executive Director of the Arizona Medical Board. “The board will miss her wisdom and insight.”

Dr. Haas graduated from the University of Oregon Health Services Center and completed her residency in OB/GYN from Baystate Medical Center. She is certified in OB/GYN from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

During her tenure on the Arizona Medical Board, Doctor Haas was listed among the “Best Doctors in America 2003-2004” and as one of the “Top Docs in Phoenix” for three years.

The Arizona Medical Board offices are located at 9545 E. Doubletree Ranch Road in Scottsdale
