Interim Evaluations and Investigational Interviews

STATUTUORY REFERENCE:

1451 (C) …shall require any combination of mental, physical or oral or written medical competency examinations and conduct necessary investigations including investigational interviews between representatives of the board and the doctor to fully inform itself with respect to any information filed with the board under subsection A of this section. These examinations may include biological fluid testing.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF USE:

For the E.D. to require evaluations of investigational interviews which assist in information gathering,

(a) The Supervising Medical Consultant recommends, after reviewing the allegations and investigator's summary, that such mental, physical, oral, or written medical competency examinations be conducted, or
(b) either the Investigation Supervisor or Supervising Medical Consultant, after reviewing the allegations and relevant facts at hand, recommends conducting an investigational interview.

Subsequent to requiring such evaluations or interviews,

— the E.D. shall report to the Board at each bimonthly Board meeting a statistical summary of the numbers and types of evaluations completed during the prior period for Board information. This Summary will appear in the Executive Director's report.
