FISCAL SERVICES SPECIALIST III
Salary: $23,876 - $42,127
Class Code: Uncovered, Grade 17 (Serves at the pleasure of the Executive Director.)

Job Description:

Challenging position in a fast-paced, innovative, team environment within the Business Operations Center. Under the general direction of the Business Manager, this is the lead position in the Business Office. The position is responsible for maintaining a fiscal services system, which is a technically significant segment of the agency's fiscal management unit, frequently supervising subordinate staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monthly reconciliation of expenses, deposits and petty cash
  • Preparing a monthly budget report for the Executive Director and Board
  • Assisting with budget requests
  • Analyzing, verifying and /or interpreting financial reports/statements as assigned
  • Reconciling account balances
  • Receipting revenue and preparing daily deposits
  • Entering financial data into the state's financial databases
  • Verifying vendor invoices and payments for accuracy
  • Approving vendor payments
  • Processing payroll
Desired Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, practices, methods and techniques of government accounting and fiscal management.
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of data processing as it relates to accounting practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Professional, independent self starter
  • Proficient in Windows and MS Office (Word & Excel), Access a plus
Minimum Qualifications:

One year governmental accounting experience or at least 12 semester hours of accounting from an accredited college or university and two years professional level business accounting experience. A Bachelors' degree with a major in accounting may substitute for one year of the business accounting experience.

Job Description:

Challenging position in a fast-paced, innovative environment at the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners investigating complaints against Medical Doctors and Physician Assistants in Arizona. Under the general direction of the Investigations Supervisor and Enforcement Administrator, will be responsible for the following:

  • Interview complainant, Doctor or Physician Assistant, and witnesses.
  • Collect documents and other evidence.
  • Discuss/review cases with staff medical consultants.
  • Prepare a written report and summary of the case materials for presentation to the Board of Medical Examiners.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to understand the relevance of facts and legal issues and act upon them.
  • Ability to extract and utilize facts from a variety of sources and apply the relevant statutes, rules and policies to prepare clear, accurate and quality legal documents within specified timeframes.
  • Familiar with medical terminology.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to review and evaluate problems analytically and to develop effective plans and methods for improvement.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to meet competing changing priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and the Internet.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five years of investigative experience.
  • AZ POST or equivalent training desired but not required
  • Degree in medicine, nursing, pharmacy or other medical related training considered in lieu of investigative experience.

  • Providing secretarial and administrative support of average difficulty for department
  • Responsible for distributing legal orders; archiving of closed investigation files; entering information into database
  • Order and track office supplies
  • Distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Perform other related duties as required
