                 During its February 28, 2001 meeting, the Board voted to:

                             Refer 2 Physician Assistants to Formal Hearing

                             Deny Reinstatement of a Revoked License

Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB)

Joint Board member Barry Cassidy, P.A.-C, Ph.D. attended the FARB conference and gave a brief presentation on materials covered at the conference.   Topics included:  ADA issues, Freedom of Information Act, revocation of license if negligent in child support payment, and patient approval of electronic transactions.  He also commented that there was a great deal of discussion about the need for additional training for Board members on regulatory boards and that this Board is already doing all the things discussed. The conference was informative and P.A. Cassidy recommended this regulatory board become an associate member.

Next Joint Board Meeting

The next Joint Board meeting will take place May 16, 2001 at the Board of Medical Examiners' Office: 9545 E. Doubletree Ranch Road Scottsdale, Arizona 85258-5539. To get to the new office:

From the South- Take Interstate 101 to 90th Street / Pima exit. Take the first right to Via Linda.

From the North, East, or West - From the intersection of Shea and 90th Street, head south on 90th Street to Via Linda.

Take Via Linda east to 95th Street and then head south on 95th Street until you reach San Salvador Drive. Turn east on San Salvador Drive and head south on 95th Way. 95th Way will run into Doubletree Ranch Road. The office is the white building at 9545 E. Doubletree Ranch Road.
